Pizza Hut is a restaurant chain and international franchise based in Addison, Texas, USA (a northern suburb of Dallas) offering different styles of pizza along with side dishes including pasta, buffalo wings, breadsticks, and garlic bread. Pizza Hut is the world’s largest pizza restaurant chain and is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., whose restaurants total approximately 34,000 restaurants, delivery-carry out units, and kiosks in 100 countries.

Pizza Hut is split into a number of restaurant concepts. Quickly disappearing from the scene are original family-style “Red Roof” dine-in-only locations, which do not have delivery service. Restaurant-based delivery (RBD) locations offer a hybrid of carry-out, delivery, and dine-in options. Most new stores, however, are “DEL/CO” locations, offering only delivery and carry-out service.

Kentucky Fried Chicken, or KFC, is a chain of fast food restaurants based in Louisville, Kentucky. KFC has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Yum! Brands since 2002. The chain also advertises itself as Poulet Frit du Kentucky or PFK in the province of Quebec in Canada.

The company was founded as Kentucky Fried Chicken by Colonel Harland Sanders in 1952. The company adopted the abbreviated form of its name, KFC, in 1991.[2] Starting in April 2007, the company began using its original appellation of Kentucky Fried Chicken again for its signage, packaging and advertisements in the United States as part of a new corporate re-branding program;[3][4] newer and remodeled restaurants will have the new logo and name while older stores will continue to use the 1991 signage. Additionally, the company continues to use the abbreviation KFC freely in its advertising. Internationally the company is still known as KFC.

KFC primarily sells chicken in form of pieces, wraps, salads and burgers. While its primary focus is fried chicken KFC also offers a line of roasted chicken products, sides and desserts. Outside of North America, KFC offers beef based products such as burgers or kebabs, pork based products such as ribs and other regional fare. The popularity and novelty of KFC has led to the general formula of the fried chicken fast-food restaurant being copied by restaurant owners worldwide.

McDonald’s original restaurant in San Bernardino, California served only hamburgers, milkshakes, and french fries. While still based on hamburgers, today’s menu includes numerous other items that have been added through the years. Below are listed both the basic items sold in the company’s home market, and local variations in the nearly 100 countries where McDonald’s does business.

Burger Big Mac: Along with the Quarter Pounder with cheese, this is one of the two McDonald’s signature menu items. Introduced in 1968 as a response to the flagship burger at Big Boy restaurants. Two 1.6 oz beef patties, special Big Mac sauce (similar to Thousand Island dressing), re-hydrated onions, two pickle slices, shredded lettuce, and cheese, on a toasted bun, with an additional middle bun (called a “club layer”) separating both beef patties. Also sold as a quad sandwich with 4 beef patties, for example in Japan, where this double-meat sandwich is marketed as the “Mega Mac”.
